TIMES END

Ripened fingers clench
On time's narrow waist
As slipping sands plummet
through needle's eye.

What fresh beginnings
And old ends
Will come again
Before time's final grain
Turns on itself .

Blinkered again
Friends of old
to thwarted hope
and fears familiar
by toothless cry
in  cock-crow flush.

                WINTER HAIKU

Fluttered fingers feel
Soaring winds surging song
Coil
Air on icy twig
