OLD DOGDid you clock the climbing snail
Approach the leafy height
Flowers dancing growth
Watch wheat spear summer sky
Tally turning green unfolding
Beside your eager breath.Leave crumpled sheets
To dream the tortuous day
Walk now the old dog that I am
And skirt each vibrant pool
Lives lived in murky puddles
on that path.Memories bastion flickers in old air
The bricks rubble and mortar dust
Leave no ghostly flag
To flutter once again
with my fading breath.
